Aztec God "Tlaloc" Ceramic Pot

Traditionally on holidays around the end of the year, hot drinks or beverages would be served in clay pots shaped just like this one. Drinks like a good ponche or chocolate caliente could have been prepared.

The design is inspired by the Aztec god Tlaloc, one of the most important gods in the Aztec pantheon. The Tlaloc is known to be the ruler of rain and lightning, bringing fertility to the crops and the people. For the colors of the craft, the characteristic blue and green surrounding the outside of the cup with acrylic symbolizes water and fertility. Additionally, the lack of exposure we have to this day to that sentimental part of our culture can be seen and depicted from the hidden/slight cracks that are around the paint.
