Japanese Murakami Flower: Cherry Blossom

The cherry blossom flowers are one of the most cherished in Japan, with the blossoms found in all aspects of Japanese culture ranging from film to poetry and paintings. They are called "sakura", and they are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. The theme of mortality is emphasized as well, with recognition of the blossom being short-lived, which represents the transience of human existence.

The Murakami flower is a cherry blossom that carries great cultural significance in Japan. It resembles a cherry blossom, and has more of a modern take on the color schemes as well as the addition of a happy facial expression. The faces are celebrated and popular for their display of joy and innocence. The enchantment of individual personalities about the flowers makes it one of the most recognizable motifs to this day, even becoming featured everywhere from the Versailles Palace to Vans sneakers and other popular brands.
