“With great interest in the global cultures, I observed the cultures of the Coast Salish group. Ethically and linguistically, they reside in the Pacific Northwest region, such as Washington and Oregon. My piece depicts a totem pole with characteristics such as the spread-winged eagle, a crucial part of many folk tales and fables told. The elements of their appreciation for nature are showcased.”
