“In my panel, I have painted an abstract representation of the Hindu god Ganesh. I have pieced together my perception of the god from bed-time stories as a child exemplifying Ganesh’s wit and innocence. I utilized color contrasts: warmer colors near Ganesh’s head to symbolize his ability to cause mischief and bring joy, and darker colors near his feet to emphasize his ability to console and provide thoughtful responses to deep questions. The abstract nature of the art allowed me to exemplify Ganesh’s fluidity and versatility.”
