“Retaining the original colors in a modern pop medium, I created the talavera, a traditional and classic that’s been around for many years. It’s iconic by its colors painted as tin-glazed ceramic tilework. Each piece is hand-made, but I incorporated many designs in the background to showcase. I also put a skull called the Calavera, a decorative skull used in celebrations like the Day of the Dead. I made 2 panels because I wanted to showcase the many patterns that I loved.”
