“I was very interested in learning more about Indian culture, especially its ancient epics. In this, I depict one amongst the plenty of battles that took place within the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. Every character in the epic is born into a particular social group, or caste, that must follow the duty prescribed to it by sacred law. This art is in the style of old Indian scriptures, and the edges are painted through with purposeful scratches to give a rustic look and enhance an ancient medium on a modernized canvas."
