For many years, the Incans and Aztecs worshiped sunflowers, believing that spirits of the dead were attracted to them because they were reminded those spirits of the sun. Sunflowers are native to the Americas and has nourished us for centuries. They have been cultivated by man for about 5,000 years, in rival with corn as one of the earliest crops that hunter-gatherers grew. This flower spread around the world and holds many meanings, generally positivity, longevity, peace, and strength to admiration and loyalty. Due to this, they are used as a common pattern and design in art, such as pottery, ceramic, paintings, and others.
